New Pricing on Hi Res .jpegsUntil further notice, I'm having a special on hi-resolution .jpegs, these are 8.2 megapixel, full original quality, and suitable for printing to A2 (and larger) sizes. As of December 15th, high resolution files are now up to 10.1 megapixels. Normally these photos cost $50 each, but for the forseeable future, they'll only cost you $40 each if you order 2 or more. 2009 Holden vs Ford Drag RacingThe 2009 edition of the Motorplex's annual Holden vs Ford Drag Racing show was held on Anzac Day. While for most the distinction was quite cut and dried, regular Super Sedan competitor Norbert Claite had an each way bet with his GM powered Falcon ute.  You can check out all the days photos here. 2009 April 19th Hi Tech TitlesApril 19th was the final round of the 2008/2009 Hi Tech Titles at the Perth Motorplex, and saw a number of new drivers and cars hitting the strip. In Tune Performance's Aaron Gregory debuted the new engine in his Monaro. With the help of Gas Motorsport, Aaron's ride is now sporting one of the toughest 2JZ-GTE's in Australia. 2009 April 5th Sheehan / Greene Test DayOn the 5th of April, a number of racers hired the Motorplex drag strip for a test day, amongst these were the Sheehan funny car team, the Greene Machine team, Jeff Clarke and Phil Stewart.  Mark Sheehan and his team were running some test laps in their Nitro Funny Car, hoping to end the season on a high note after a meeting they would probably prefer to forget. On their final pass of the day, Mark drove the funny car to a track record 5.10 second ET.  While the Sheehans were out breaking records, the Greene Machine team were hoping to finally license their new Nitro Funny Car driver, Fergie Donaldson. Also leaving the best till last, the team worked hard all day, culminating in a 5.90 second pass, with header flames all the way to the finish line.  Jeff Clarke had had a meeting to forget on the 4th of April, not only was he struggling with tyre shake issues throughout the meeting, but he also put the dragster on it's side and very deep in the sand trap. With the assistance of fellow racer Pat Carbone, Jeff was trying to sort out his tyre sake issues.  Phil Stewart runs a couple of junior dragsters for his children, and runs a HQ Monaro in selected events, he has recently acquired a blown front engined dragster (FED), and was trying to sort out the handling at the test day. Other regular Perth Motorplex racers testing on the day included Graeme Simms in his Toyota Supra and Rob Pilkingon in his Alcohol Funny Car. 2009 Motorplex Drag Racing Grand FinalsThe 2008/2009 season Perth Motorplex Drag Racing Grand Finals (featuring Chuck Haynes' Jet Dragsters) were held on April 4th, 2009.  Amongst the 200 odd race cars and bikes entered for the day's racing, was Phil Purser, in a 2JZ-GTE powered altered. Once fully sorted, this car should be capable of running low 7 second passes with ease, maybe even dipping into the 6 second zone. You can check out all the photos here.
